Home Design and Renovation Project

A Transformational Case Study

A Stunning Multi-Room Home Design Renovation Project

The pictures you see below tell the real story of this transformational project.

We know you love your home. It’s nestled in a great neighborhood and has a charming look inside and out. Perhaps it even boasts a spacious backyard for the kids to run and play. But as the years pass and your family’s needs evolve, you’ve started to take a closer look at the kitchen and living area. These areas were never “perfect”—cramped and underutilized spaces, limited storage, and layouts and fixtures that were extremely outdated. On top of that, the pantry was non-existent. You’ve meant to remodel for years but never quite got around to it because of busy schedules, money, and not having a capable designer in your back pocket.

That’s how one of our clients felt about their Highland Village home. They loved the area and wouldn’t dream of leaving behind so many wonderful memories. That said, the limitations inside were becoming hard to work with:

  • The kitchen felt dark and enclosed with nothing but walls and no windows.
  • There was very limited storage and NO pantry.
  • Several areas had space that was severely underutilized from a layout perspective.
  • Pretty much everything was outdated and falling apart.

They knew something had to change but admittedly had no idea how the floor plan could be reimagined until they called Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath.

Upon meeting with this sweet family for their initial design consultation, there was an obvious need to brighten up the kitchen, improve its overall functionality, and give the floors, fixtures, appliances, and other amenities a long-overdue upgrade. To further maximize the space, we suggested adding a pantry room between the kitchen and adjoining living room to give them an immediate storage upgrade.

Meanwhile, the client was always curious about possibly making the family room floor flat and removing the corner fireplace to make the room bigger and better. As it turned out, both ideas were not only possible but transformational.

In addition to turning their kitchen dreams into a reality, we moved the main family room to the fireplace area and added a bar where their sectional used to be. We then called a structural engineer to remove the dining room columns and kitchen wall. We also lowered the existing door and enlarged the windows to add natural light to the space.

Voila … so much better!

Again, anything we could say or write about this multi-room design project pales compared to the before and after images.
