Imagine undertaking a massive renovation for your entire home. Most people might get a little nervous and perhaps even a smidgen overwhelmed by the scale of such a project. But not you. You hired the perfect designer, laid out your dream scenario for a new kitchen, dining room, prep kitchen, sunroom, and walk-in pantry—complete with all the bells and whistles—and watched as all the finer details began falling into place. Then, in a moment you can only describe as sheer bad luck, one of the key subcontractors suddenly backed out.
In an instant, your project goes from an exciting transformation to a stressful search to keep the project from being derailed.
That is precisely what happened to one of our clients recently. Thankfully, they had a certified whole-home designer on their side who knew how to navigate such an unexpected setback and keep everything moving forward without a single interruption.
But don’t just take our word for it. Here is the client’s full review.

We wanted to take a moment to express our sincere gratitude for the extraordinary work you performed on our home renovation project. Your vision turned our dream board into reality. The attached covered patio has been transformed into a stunning dining room complete with a built‑in buffet, a prep kitchen, a walk‑in pantry, and a sunroom. Additionally, the redesign of our existing kitchen exceeded all expectations: The two cumbersome stone columns flanking the stove were removed and replaced with functional cabinets, instantly making the space feel larger.
The two modest islands were consolidated into one large, beautiful island featuring a sink, dishwasher, seating, and ample storage—simplifying the workflow and enhancing the overall aesthetic. Throughout the nearly six‑month build, your guidance kept our original vision front and center, ensuring the project stayed true to our goals.
We also want to highlight your professionalism and dedication when we faced the unexpected bankruptcy of one of the subcontractors. You promptly secured a fabulous replacement contractor and, impressively, honored our original deposit from your own funds. This level of commitment truly sets you apart.
Thank you again for your expertise, creativity, and unwavering support. We are delighted with the results and will not hesitate to recommend your services to friends, family, and anyone seeking exceptional design work.

What This Renovation Story Highlights
We would love to say that every project we take on moves forward without a single hiccup, but the reality is sometimes very different than how we (or the client) imagined it. Regardless, that doesn’t mean the client should suffer the consequences of said hiccup. Yes, the custom cabinet maker for this project went out of business mid-project—even after they accepted the customer’s deposit to start. Finding a new cabinet guy wasn’t the issue … we found one in no time at all. But I refused to force the client to fork over more money. Instead, Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath covered their initial deposit without question.
Needless to say, we were back on track—and the results are absolute perfection.
As the client already stated, we transformed their original covered patio into a stunning dining room with a built-in buffet, a prep kitchen, a walk-in pantry, and a sunroom. We also reimagined their existing kitchen by combining two smaller islands into one, opening up the space, and adding extra cabinetry. We selected every structural choice and surface finish to cultivate an atmosphere of organic luxury, creating a home that felt deeply rooted, visually rich, and effortlessly tailored to everyday life.
Keeping the project moving smoothly while adding a new cabinetmaker mid-project is a testament to a seamless process driven by a strong plan of attack. Whole-home renovations often become overwhelming and stall because the designer or construction crew lacks a detailed plan of attack, or doesn’t factor in what makes the most sense for that specific client. Before we do anything, we seek to understand how each client wants to live and what they think is missing from their current space. From there, we create a thoughtful design plan that keeps their vision and our solutions in mind.
Yes, all renovations inevitably bring unexpected challenges. But having an experienced professional who can troubleshoot issues and offer practical solutions helps homeowners stay aligned with their vision from start to finish. In turn, even new contractors can step in mid-project and access detailed instructions that let them pick up where the others left off.
We couldn’t be happier for this client, and we hope the pictures and review above convince you that it’s time to start your own project.
