We recently completed a significant home renovation and we couldn’t be happier with our experience and the work that Marta Layton provided throughout the entire project.
After a considerable amount of online research and a handful of somewhat frustrating interviews with several other “full service” companies, we decided to take a different approach for our renovation project and hired Marta with Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath.
At first glance, Marta’s services were “only” the design portion of the project. However, after meeting with her in person at our home, watching her nearly instantaneously create the “as is” floorpan of our home and speaking with several of her existing clients, we learned and ultimately experienced first hand that SMKB provides significant value beyond just the design component.
Marta’s design process is well organized and done in person following her detailed preparation. She provides several planned 1-2 hour interactive sessions where she brings her prepared design from our feedback and collaboratively makes real time updates and changes that we discuss during the session. She is an expert listener and quickly translates our discussion into desired outcomes nearly real time. Additionally, through this process, several trips to materials locations were scheduled where she enabled us to efficiently narrow our selections – we were never left with the common overwhelming feeling that invariably comes with the decision making process of which materials to choose for the desired outcome.
More than just a designer, Marta’s end to end engagement provided us with a comprehensive and owner friendly approach that enabled us to move forward with confidence and tackle the unknowns that we were bound to encounter. We were provided with excellent resource trade professionals to choose from, expert materials resources, appropriate timing of orders/project steps and ongoing suggestions that enabled us to stay on target with the vision. Ultimately we felt these activities were beyond our expected scope of the highly effective design sessions. We found that no matter what stage of the project we were in or what the challenge we faced, Marta happily stepped back in and offered solutions and assistance that enabled us to navigate the path forward.
From the first meeting to the last photo shoot of the completed project, Marta was energetic, highly engaged and responsive to every aspect of the work. She is solution oriented and leverages her years of broad industry experience to put concerns and challenges into the appropriate perspective that helped us successfully navigate our home renovation. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Marta!
