Worth the Price Without Breaking the Bank

Let’s get real: As much as most homeowners want to dive headfirst into a new renovation project, there are generally two major obstacles holding them back. The first is typically budget-oriented. In other words, “Can we afford to have our dream kitchen?” The other obstacle is the process itself. Choosing a contractor, sifting through several bids, selecting colors, finishes, and all the fancy things—it all feels overwhelming. Friends may have even suggested working with a certified designer to make the process easier, but you can’t help but wonder if the cost of adding a designer to the mix is even more cost-prohibitive.

The truth? Working with a designer for your next dream space doesn’t have to be complicated—or expensive. In fact, our goal at Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath is to make the entire process feel more approachable, less stressful, and fully transparent. The reality is that all renovation and remodel projects cost money. But working with us doesn’t have to break your bank.

No surprises. No mysteries. Just increased confidence to make smart, beautiful decisions for your home.

Transparent Designer Pricing You Can Afford

Our design services typically add about 10% to the overall cost of the project. For instance, let’s say the rough cost of the planned renovation is about $100,000. It will cost $10,000 to get full support from our owner and certified kitchen and bath designer, Marta Layton, for the entire duration of your project.

What does this mean in practice?

Sunday Morning KB - Marta and Client Collab

Why do we price this way? Simply put, it’s essential to know the costs you will be incurring before making any major decisions. There is peace of mind in having total control over your budget, your space, and your vision. And none of this costs extra. The 10% fee remains the same, regardless of whether you choose higher-end finishes, request that we be your personal shopper, or require a little extra hand-holding throughout the process. So, updating to quartz counters, upscale lighting, or luxury tile doesn’t impact our design fee—only your construction costs reflect those upgrades. If you decide to add a completely new space, such as a pantry or game room, the design fee will adjust proportionally to cover the expanded scope.

Contractor Pricing and Estimates

Our team at Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath has a growing list of professional and highly capable contractors to choose from. All of them have been formally vetted, and each has the luxury of being handed detailed project renderings and to-scale measurements to make their jobs easier. Essentially, all they have to do is show up and do the work! As a result, their pricing will ultimately save you money because they won’t have to add additional costs for layout, design, consulting, etc.

Should the contractor’s pricing exceed your initial budget, we will work with you to modify the current design in a stress-free manner. Perhaps you can save money by choosing a different tile floor or examining lower-cost appliances without compromising aesthetics or function. Maybe there are subtle layout changes that can be made to reduce cabinet expenses. Conversely, if the project comes in under budget, we can explore adding thoughtful touches—such as premium faucet upgrades, expanding the pantry, incorporating more lighting and space-saving solutions, etc. The sky is the limit, and as a result, your contractor pricing will adjust accordingly.

Our Stress-Free Design Process

Initial Consultation

We discuss your vision and budget face-to-face. We’ll discuss the type of work required to achieve your vision, a rough budget, and the next steps to prepare you for construction. We will also measure your home during the initial consultation or when the design contract is accepted.

Budget and Design Estimate

You receive a design fee upfront. This allows you to see exactly what you’re getting by working with Marta and Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath. Furthermore, you’ll have a projected budget to work toward.

Design and Selections

We provide detailed floor plans and 3D renderings—all before construction begins. This process is meant to be highly interactive. From there, we explore different ways to adjust your future space. We also select materials, finishes, and fixtures that reflect your style and enhance the functionality of your space. This step refines every detail to ensure your remodel is as unique as you are. We source and select in a particular order that makes sense for efficient project management. As we make those selections, we prepare detailed drawings for your cabinets, tile, and hardware placement to save time and headaches during construction.

Construction Bids

With a traditional remodel, it may be incumbent on the homeowner to do a lot of legwork on their own. Not only can this be overwhelming, but it typically leads to breakdowns in the overall planning process. Our designers coordinate with contractors and material suppliers on your behalf. If we know something won’t work for your budget, we move on and find an alternative. The bottom line is that we are here to work on your behalf.

Build and Manage

Our designers and team of contractors ensure a seamless construction process. Throughout the construction phase, we remain actively involved (just a text or call away), ensuring that everything is executed according to plan and that you are kept informed. However, we are with you until the end of the punch list, in case the design needs to be modified for site conditions or the contractor requires support. Now, all that’s left to do is enjoy the finished product!
