You could go with a standard contractor and hope for the best, but for a project like this, you’re better off starting the process with a designer who sees your vision, will go down the rabbit hole of ideas and pretty things with you, and then find imaginative ways to bring it all to life. At Sunday Morning Kitchen and Bath, our mission is to transform your living spaces into an environment that’s uniquely yours through innovative design and expert craftsmanship. And like anything else in life, that all starts with a plan!

Our Proven 5-Step Process

1.

Introductory Meeting

During the initial consultation (virtual or in-home), this is your opportunity to share with us your vision of how your home needs to change to fit your needs, lifestyle, and wants. If you have a Pinterest or Houzz Ideabook, we’d love to see it! We’ll discuss the type of work it will take to achieve your vision, a very rough budget, and the next steps to get you ready for construction. We typically price our design services on the spot. On average, you should expect these services to add 10% to the total project budget. We will measure your home during the initial consultation or when the design contract is accepted.

Space Planning Stage

We meet with you to discuss the preliminary designs. This process is meant to be highly interactive. We provide detailed floor plans and 3D renderings (including video walkthroughs), so you don’t have to imagine anything. From there, we explore different ways to adjust your future space. Want to play with imaginative layouts, test lighting schemes, swap colors and cabinet features, or daringly remove a load-bearing wall to get more use out of the space? We can do all that and plan on placing appliances and plumbing fixtures. This stage ends with drawings that can be used for permits, contractor bids, and actual construction. In between meetings, we provide PDF presentations with floor plan options and 3D renderings.

3.

Renderings and Selections

Select materials, finishes, and fixtures that reflect your style and enhance the functionality of your space. This step refines every detail to ensure your remodel is as unique as you are. We source and select in a particular order that makes sense for efficient project management. For instance, we typically do cabinets and appliances first, countertops and backsplashes next, and hardware, accessories, and paint last. This can change based on the project, but the goal is to ensure everything looks amazing when all the puzzle pieces are combined. Naturally, you will see your selections rendered in 3D as they are added to your presentation file. There is no need to imagine anything—no surprises, regrets, or cookie-cutter solutions! As we make those selections, we prepare detailed drawings for your cabinets, tile, and hardware placement to save time and headaches during construction.

4.

Implementation

This is when the builder or contractor takes over. You can choose your own or work with one of our vetted crews. We know we are biased, but our trusted partners are the best contractors and remodelers in the area! Throughout the construction phase, we remain actively involved (just a text or call away), ensuring everything is executed according to plan and that you are kept in the loop. That said, one of our special skills is keeping questions to a minimum by providing accurate and detailed drawings and product downtime to a minimum with accurate ordering. In plain words, the better the designer, the less they must do in this phase. But we are with you until the end of the punch list in case the design needs to be modified for site conditions, or the contractor needs support. Now, all that’s left to do is enjoy the finished product!

5.

The final step is the most rewarding part. We conduct a thorough walkthrough to ensure every detail meets your expectations. This final step is about celebrating the transformation of your home and the fulfillment of your vision. From there, all that’s left to do is enjoy the beautiful, functional space we’ve created together!
